Marcia Tambutti, Chilean-Mexican, the granddaughter of Salvador Allende, was initially forced by the 1973 coup d’état to leave Chile, deciding at a later date and of her own accord to stay out of the country. She studied in Mexico and London and since 2007 has been back living in Chile, where she collaborates with the Salvador Allende Foundation and the Institute of Ecology and Biodiversity, focussing her work on biodiversity and scientific dissemination. Allende mi abuelo Allende won the L'Oeil d'Or award for Best Documentary at the last Cannes Festival.
