Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
The presenters of the galas at the 65th edition of the San Sebastian Festival will dress in fashion from San Sebastian, Gipuzkoa and the Basque Country thanks to an initiative by the Fomento San Sebastián fashion cluster, with the collaboration of the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa and the Basque Government, aiming to help bring designers to the forefront.
The Festival’s alliance with the creators and the institutions which support them was presented this morning at a press conference in the Victoria Eugenia Theatre, attended by the Head of San Sebastián’s fashion cluster, Laura Chamorro, the First Deputy Mayor and Councillor responsible for Economic Stimulus, Employment, Tourism, Trade and Hospitality, Ernesto Gasco, and the San Sebastian Festival Director, José Luis Rebordinos.
Leticia Dolera and Anne Igartiburu, presenters of the opening gala, Irene Escolar and Edurne Ormazabal, presenters of the closing gala, Itziar Ituño, anchor of the Basque Film and ETB gala, and Vanessa Rodríguez, who will introduce the directors in the Pearls section at the presentations in the Victoria Eugenia Theatre, will be dressed by Isabel Zapardiez, Sophie et Voilà, Minimil, Alex Robe, Manuela se va de fiesta, Yolanda Torres and Alicia Rueda.
As it does in other spheres of creation, with this initiative the San Sebastian Festival once again demonstrates its commitment to local industry, together with Donostia Moda, the cluster responsible for the promotion, growth, development and visibility of local design in San Sebastián by means of activities focussed on strengthening the sector.
According to Gasco, “the idea is to make the most of an event as important as the Film Festival to highlight the San Sebastián brand in the world of fashion and to offer local designers the opportunity to turn the focus on their creations at both national and international level.”
