Snow-covered mountains in Japan. Every night, a fisherman makes his way to the market in town. His 6 year old son is awoken by his departure and finds it impossible to fall back to sleep. In the sleeping household, the young boy draws a picture he then slips into his satchel. On his way to school, still drowsy, he strays off the path and wanders into the snow...

BIOGRAPHY

Having directed several internationally acclaimed shorts, Damien Manivel made Un jeune poète (2014), awarded a Special Jury Mention at the Locarno Festival. His second feature, Le parc (2016), participated in the Cannes Festival. Kohei Igarashi, as well as the short films Apartness (2011), Marchen (2012) and House of Tofu (2013), is the author of the feature films Voice of Rain That Comes at Night (2008), selected for the Seoul Film Festival, and Hold Your Breath Like a Lover (2013), which competed at the Locarno Festival. La nuit où j'ai nagé screened as part of the Orizzonti Selection at the Venice Festival.
