FILMS IN PROGRESS TOULOUSE AWARD

The Films in Progress Toulouse Award consists on post-production services and initiatives to promote the winning film provided by partnered companies.

LOS SILENCIOS
Beatriz Seigner  (Brazil - France - Colombia)

Nuria and Fabio arrive with their mother Amparo in an unknown island in the border between Brazil, Colombia and Peru. They are fleeing armed conflicts in Colombia. Fearful of betraying family secrets, Nuria goes silent. In the midst of this, the family tries to receive compensation for the father's death and to obtain a visa to emigrate to Brazil. By covering this story, they uncover others about the family past. First film.

SPECIAL CINÉ + IN PROGRESS AWARD

The CINE+ channel guarantees purchase of the film for a value of EUR 15,000 and its television broadcast. This award will go to the distributor of the film in France on condition that this film will be commercially exhibited in French theatres within the first two years following the Films in Progress screening.

LUCIéRNAGAS (FIREFLIES)
Bani Khoshnoudi  (Mexico - Greece - Dominican Republic - USA)

Ramin is a young gay man who fled the repression in Iran and arrived in Veracruz, Mexico, after travelling clandestinely on a cargo ship from Turkey. While contemplating what he will do next, Ramin tries to cope with the distance with his lover, who stayed in Teheran. The paradox of his feelings is immense: while in a state of longing and nostalgia, he savors his newfound freedom far from Iran.

EUROPEAN DISTRIBUTORS AND EXHIBITORS AWARD

Consists on the promotion of the winning film on the Europa Distribution and the Confédération Internationale des Cinémas d'Art et d'Essai (CICAE) networks.
