Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
Last year the International Centre for Contemporary Culture Tabakalera began the prologue to the San Sebastian International Film Festival with the screening of The Room (Tommy Wiseau, 2003), linked to the selection of The Disaster Artist (James Franco, 2017) at the Official Section, which would get afterwards the Golden Shell.
This year, the Tabakalera cinema proposes during September a dialogue with the Donostia Awards. The goal is to honor the honored, screening films that are fundamental in their career and to offer the city the possibility to watch again -or discover- in the big screen.
On one hand, Tabakalera wil recover the first fiction feature film by Hirokazu Kore-eda, presented in the Venice Festival in 1995 and awarded with the Best director prize.
On the other, a double session paying tribute to Danny DeVito in two of his most charismatic roles. His filmography as actor, director and producer is enough for an entire series but we wanted to review his most popular essence, the closest one to the public, the one that shared with us many videoclub sessions or after-lunch tv hours during years.
