Since 2001, Vigil Vernier has been directing films combining fiction, documentary and mythology. His first shorts, Karine (2001), L’oiseau d’or (2004) and Chroniques de 2005 (2007), focus on young people in Paris and its outlying districts. Thermidor (2009), Pandore (2010), Orléans (2012) and Andorre (2013) screened at numerous festivals. Mercuriales (2014), his first feature, was selected for the ACID programme at Cannes in 2015. Sophia Antipolis participated in the Cineasti del presente section at the last Locarno Festival.
