Wyatt Earp collects pistols from strangers and keeps them in his office until they leave. Lin enters the saloon where he sees Dutch Henry Brown and both men grope for their sidearms, only to find empty holsters. The two men square off again in a shooting contest where a brand new Winchester '73 is the first prize. Lin is finally awarded the rifle but before he can leave town Brown attacks him and takes it from him. McAdam pursues Brown with maniacal intensity.

He goes home to Wyoming and has trouble with Verne Coolan, a prejudiced lawyer who threatens to take away the Indians' traditional lands under a new homesteading law. Poole attempts to assuage matters between his tribe and the settlers by appealing to the authorities for help, but it is useless. The tribe is trounced in the courts and on the battlefield.

She and her lover Rip Darrow, a mercenary saloon owner whose father was killed by T.C., force Jeffords into bankruptcy. Impressed by his daughter's shrewdness, T.C. accepts his defeat. As the three walk into town to celebrate, Juan's mother shoots T.C. in the back.

They are attacked and repel a band of Shoshone Indians, then arrive at their destination. Jeremy Baile, the farmers' leader, gets Tom Hendricks to take care of transportation for the group. When Hendricks's promised supplies fail to get to the newly built village, McLyntock and Baile race into Portland to see what went wrong.

Tensions come to a breaking point when the two daughters of fisherman Dominique Rigaud -Stella and Francesca- fall for, respectively, Martin and Gambi.

The Nazis are producing "heavy water", essential in the manufacture of atomic bombs. Straud and Pedersen bring the message to the Allies in England, who decide to destroy the factory. Straud and Pedersen are parachuted with some men back into Norway to lay the groundwork for an attack on the factory by British commandos.

After participating in a mission in Berlin, he discovers that his true identity has been known from the start and that he has been used to uncover the Russian network in that city.
